An introduction for parents and guardians to the science fair process, including the project timeline, major deadlines, student responsibilities, and appropriate ways families can support participating students.
Approval Made Simple: Navigating SRC Approval
A practical session helping students understand the Scientific Review Committee approval process. The webinar will explain how to identify required forms, determine whether prior approval is needed, and avoid common mistakes that may delay a project.
Find Your Question: Coming Up With Your Science Fair Idea
A guided workshop helping students identify their interests, explore real-world problems, and turn broad topics into possible science fair ideas. Examples from both research and engineering projects will be included.
From Idea to Project: Developing Your Research Idea
A follow-up session helping students turn an initial idea into a focused and feasible project. Students will learn how to develop a clear research question or engineering goal, establish the scope of their project, and outline their next steps.
From Question to Findings: Data Generation, Analysis, and Visualization
A practical session covering how students can generate or obtain data through experiments, observations, surveys, simulations, public datasets, and prototype testing. Students will also learn how to organize and analyze their data, identify patterns, create effective graphs and tables, and connect their findings to their research question without making unsupported conclusions.
Speak Your Science: Oral Presentation
A session focused on helping students clearly and confidently explain their projects. It will cover organizing a concise presentation, describing methods and findings, answering judges’ questions, and communicating technical information to different audiences.
